this & that: week of August 3, 2018
We're back! We took a brief hiatus for the month of July for moving/babies/harvesting. Our blog is coming up on its 1st birthday so we'll probably be having a few conversations in the next weeks about what's working, what's not, and where we want to go with it. Reader input is highly valued!
We've got a Breakfast Week feature coming up - a week of daily breakfast recipes that you can set aside to try later or bake along with us. Maria will continue her Vintage Recipe project and Sophie is still plowing relentlessly through her book list. Sarah's life is crazy busy right now but she will no doubt have some social/literary/media commentary up on the blog soon enough.
For now, let's take it easy with some links we've been gathering. Enjoy your weekend!
"Pretty accurate", says our farmer.
A haunting lullaby, from a quirky, delightful book illustrated by our dear friend's husband!
Oof, nothing like a big dose of mommy guilt. Good food for thought here.
My worst mornings are when I wake to chaos: crying babies, poopy diapers, blocks dumped out on the floor, getting hit in the head with a bowl. I KNOW if I just wake up earlier, before anyone else, things will get off to a better start. But somehow I haven't been able to do that yet. Someday. Here's to hoping!
Some clarity amidst the confusion. Understanding diet fads.
No churn ice cream is on this weekend's menu!
And this cake is in my dreams!
