this & that: week of May 5, 2018
We're in Columbus, Ohio this weekend for a family wedding so I haven't had as much time to gather good links, but I've got a couple to get you through your Saturday breakfast. Speaking of, do you have Saturday breakfast traditions? In my house, it's sweet breakfast on Saturday (pancakes, waffles, crepes, etc) and savory on Sunday (breakfast sandwiches/burritos, omelettes, etc.) Everyone is satisfied ... although that's not too tough in a house full of people who really love breakfast food. Anyway, whatever you're eating, here are some links to get you through!
Call me pregnant, but some of these made me tear up.
For real, though, Mother's Day ranks up there with Valentine's Day as frivolous, over-commercialized holidays doesn't it? (But we still celebrate it in my house ... hmmm ....)
This is a longish but really interesting article. I love reading about people who devote their lives to improving society from the roots up.
PSA for upcoming summer water activities!
I just watched this episode of Chef's Table and I'm now Christina Tosi's biggest fan. And I'm utterly obsessed with making her Milk Bar Birthday Cake.
Have you ever been part of a cookbook club? Or thought about starting one? I just got invited to my first and I'm SO excited! (We're doing the Homesick Texan Cookbook)
Short and sweet this week. See you next week!
